How to Choose a Concierge Practice in Bergen County

July 30, 2026 · 360 Health Center

A calm treatment suite with an ivory-dressed bed and wood slat wall

Concierge medicine has grown quickly across North Jersey, and practices differ more than their websites suggest. Whether you are considering us or anyone else, these are the questions that separate marketing from substance.

Ask about panel size

The entire value of concierge medicine comes from a limited patient panel. Ask directly: how many patients does each clinician carry? A practice that will not answer plainly is answering anyway.

Ask what access really means

"Direct access" can mean anything from a dedicated line your care team answers to a slightly better phone tree. Ask how you reach the team after hours, who responds, and how quickly. Ask what happens when you are traveling.

Ask what the membership includes, in writing

Get specific about what the fee covers and what still bills through insurance. A trustworthy practice will hand you a clear list rather than a vague promise, and will explain how it works alongside your existing coverage.

Ask who you will actually see

Continuity is the point. Will your visits be with the same clinician each time? Who covers when they are away? A practice built around a stable care team can answer this without hesitation.

Ask how they handle prevention

The best sign of a serious practice is a concrete answer about how they plan preventive care: how often you are seen, what a yearly review involves, and how your plan changes as your health does.

Trust the visit itself

Finally, visit the office. The way a practice treats you before you join, including how it answers exactly these questions, tells you how it will treat you after. We welcome the comparison, and we are happy to answer all of the above about our own membership.
